Distrito Nacional, Dominican Republic

The National District is a special territorial jurisdiction where the capital of the Dominican Republic and the seat of the central government are located. It is not in any of the provinces, but in practice it acts as a province on its own.

The National District limits to the north with the Duarte highway, up to km 13 and the Isabela river; to the east with the Ozama river and the Santo Domingo Este municipality; to the south with the Caribbean Sea and to the west with the Santo Domingo Oeste municipality.
